Aromatherapy is the art of using essential oils to support wellness in the body, mind, & spirit. Essential oils are highly concentrated, aromatic liquids that are obtained from various parts of plants, whether from their bark, leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, or roots. The chemical compounds of these oils can have therapeutic effects on various body systems, and because our sense of smell is so closely tied to emotional areas of the brain, their aromas alone can elevate your relaxation experience. Once your brain links the sensation of deep relaxation to the aroma of the oils, you may be able to re-create that same relaxation response in the body simply by inhaling that aroma.
What to Expect
Andrea will discuss with you any concerns or issues that may be a part of your life, and how essential oils might be helpful. Your personal combination, or 'synergy', of 100% pure essential oils will be added to an organic massage oil blend. After your session, you will be given the remainder of your oil to take home so that you can revisit the deep relaxation of your massage session by simply inhaling the aroma of the oil, or by applying the oil to your skin after a bath or shower.
**It is important that you not apply any scented lotions or sprays to your skin prior to your aromatherapy appointment, as their fragrances can interfere with your experience of the essential oils.
