Fusion Reflexology - Coming Soon!
Our feet need some extra attention from time to time! Due to our Western lifestyle and fashion choices, many of us end up with sore feet, not to mention other structural and energetic imbalances in the body that start from the ground up. If we treat the feet well, the whole body will benefit.
Reflexology is an art with ancient roots that operates on the theory that the many nerve endings in the feet correspond to various structures in the body, including the organs and glands, and that applying pressure to these reflex areas on the feet can affect those structures. Recent fMRI research from Japan offers support to this theory by demonstrating that various areas of the brain associated with parts of the body 'light up' when the corresponding reflex points on the feet are stimulated.
On top of this healing potential, a reflexology treatment just feels amazing! The reflexology techniques not only loosen, revive, and relieve the feet, they can deeply relax the entire body/mind system as effectively as a massage.
Why "Fusion"?
Your session will include a blend of classic Reflexology techniques with Hot Stones and elements of Thai Massage. The soothing heat of the basalt stones along with comforting Thai practices enhance the already deeply relaxing and beneficial effects of Reflexology.
What to Expect
Please wear or bring comfortable clothing. You will be lying on a warm massage table with your feet elevated and head supported by a pillow.
Sessions begin with a soothing Epsom salt foot soak, and proceed with gentle but firm stretching, massaging, and point-stimulating techniques using heated basalt stones. Pressure will be applied to your level of comfort.
Afterward, you will be encouraged to move slowly, drink plenty of water, and be mindful of how you feel in the hours and days following your session.
NOTE: Fusion Reflexology cannot be performed on injured feet, or on feet that have any infection or diabetic neuropathy. If you have any questions, please contact Andrea for more information at (402) 679-6778.
